Story

The Financial Crime Forum is delighted that Luke Raven has agreed to appear at The Financial Crime Forum Online on 21 March, 2023

The Financial Crime Forum - Upskilling the Risk and Compliance Function is aimed at those considering, or having just started, a career in junior financial crime risk and compliance staff, to provide understanding of the industry and its challenges. But the Forum is not a junior level event: it deals with advanced topics that juniors would rarely get a glimpse of.

Luke Raven, who appears in his personal capacity, has more than 13 years of risk and compliance experience. He will speak on what goes wrong, why it goes wrong and what staff can do about it

Speaking about the Forum, Luke said "I'm dedicated to fighting two things: financial crime, and poor compliance processes. We can get to a place where we dig out the bad actors without undue burdens on the good ones, and that the first thing that’s necessary for that and other great outcomes is for compliance culture, and individual practitioners, to embrace learning and change. What we’re doing isn’t “working” despite the massive cost, so why not change things up?"

Welcoming Luke to the Financial Crime Speakers' Roster, Nigel Morris-Cotterill, a pioneer in Financial Crime Risk and Compliance strategies and Chairman of The Financial Crime Forum said "Luke is someone for whom I have great respect. He is indefatigable in his endeavour to get across his message "we can do better." In his case, he's actually doing something about it. "

The Financial Crime Forum: Online is at www.financialcrimeforum.com.

This event is specifically intended for those at the beginning of their career and costs only GBP10.
