Child Sexual Abuse Material sourced from people like this, says US DoJ
Gissell was taken into custody on 6th March and arrested and charged over the next two days.
Gissell befriended two teenage girls, said to be 14 years old, via social media. He chatted online and then asked them to send photographs of them naked.
He was originally arrested on 7th February on charges laid by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office but he was not detained. That arrest followed information that Gissell had been in contact with two undercover law enforcement officers posing as teenage girls. It was them that he asked to provide photos.
Following that arrest, Task Force investigators determined Gissell had been receiving suspected child sexual abuse material during online chats with numerous victims around the country. The matter was subsequently presented to the United States Attorney’s Office, which filed the federal complaint on 27 February.
He was released on bail of USD1 million and will appear in court on 11 April.
