The Financial Conduct Authority has been responsible for maintaining a register of cryptoasset businesses operating in the UK since June 2020. Not all businesses require authorisation as financial services providers but they all must register for counter-money laundering regulatory purposes. Many have not. Below is the Authority's list about which it says "Please note: this is not a complete list of all entities engaging in unregistered cryptoasset activities; and may be subject to change and update whenever we receive additional information." The Authority uses this as a reason to cast doubt on the integrity of the businesses and says, without any obvious justification "It is possible that this list may also include entities which have been identified as potentially engaging in fraudulent cryptoasset activity.
